Testimonials from Guests

Many of our guests have sent lovely thank-you emails, as well as comments about their experiences while staying at our apartment. We would like to share them so that you get a better idea of our apartment and area.

September 2009, Washington, D.C.
Can't tell you how much we enjoyed our trip, thanks in large part to you and the wonderful condo. It has probably spoiled me for any other rental. Even if we do not see each other I hope we can continue communicating with each other.

September 2009, Oregon
I wanted to tell you again that we enjoyed staying in your lovely home. It was well furnished with all we needed and then some. Our trip to Marseille was easy. We stopped in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue and ate at the Bistrot de L'Industrie (on your list-we liked it) and then on to the airport.

October 2009, Michigan
We had a wonderful time in Vaison -- couldn't have been better. We got lucky with the weather, and that's always nice. Your helpful suggestions were much appreciated. They enriched our experience far beyond the usual first-time visit. We'll be back!

September 2009, northern Ireland
We are so sad to be leaving France and we will be back again really soon. We will be needing details of your apartment availability maybe around Easter time next year. We are so taken with France we want to move out but we may start with numerous holidays here first until we finish building our house at home first!

Hope the Canadians enjoyed Vaison as much as we did.

July 2009. From a friend (and paying guest) from California
After a horrible trickle of a shower at the Marriott Zurich, I LOVED the shower in the bathroom!!! Thank you so much. Sharon-you need to go into this business, you have not forgotten a single detail and I am loving every minute including the Provence dawn which I can watch from my window. Wishing you were here to enjoy the calm and serenity..

Love your place! It's lovely and so comfy and you have thought of everything! I can't wait to get up and try some of that yummy fruit yogurt!

July 2009.From a guest from Boston
We had a wonderful 8 days stay at your apartment. I've rented on number of occasions, and have to admit your rental is one of my favorite places - had to get used to the location of the loo, but no hardship!! Walking into the apartment felt like a turnkey operation, seriously! So glad that I found your site via Patricia Well's website. Huge thanks for suggesting the ballet, and for picking up the tickets for us. FANTASTIC evening!
You sent me wonderful word documents of places to eat - THANKS!!! Pont de L'Orme was one of our favorites. Our week in Vaison was NOT rushed, but totally chilled!!!
June, 2009. From an Atlanta guest:
Yes, I am back home although I wish I was still in France! The cooking class was wonderful! Patricia and Walter were the perfect hosts. It seems like a dream!

And I loved staying at your apartment in Vaison! I will certainly recommend it to anyone I know going to that area. Thank you again! Everything was perfect!
May, 2009. San Francisco guests. Market comments and a warning about driving in Arles.
The Vaison market was great - I wish we'd gotten out earlier. I had no idea it would be so big. I got some soaps, a linen blouse, and probably more food than we'll need.

Our tour took us to Orange for a petit-dejeuner (we will return for the Roman ruins and museum), to Chateauneuf-de-Pape, where we tasted and bought a couple more wines at Vinadea and had a wonderful menu du jour at La Mere Germaine. We then went to Nimes where we used your guide to do a walking tour of the City - we enjoyed it, but aren't likely to return to Nimes this trip. Also, we parked on the roof of the shopping center but exited by a back door and couldn't find out how to return. When we put our ticket into the shopping center's cashier, they said they were invalid, and we thought we were stuck there for the night! Finally found a separate entrance for the top 2 floors of the garage (along with an elevator, fortunately) on another side of the building.

Anyway, we ended the day in Arles where we had another meal, then drove by the amphitheatre while it was getting dark and proceeded to get lost driving in the medieval city - I don't think we were the only ones! The entrance to the parking lot was one way, we drove around and around in the tiny alleys - even went down a street illegally to a Plaza as it appeared to be the only exit (it wasn't), occasionally running into another lost driver. We asked some people, but didn't have any luck - they either understood us and didn't know or they knew but didn't understand us. I was getting worried about getting picked up by the Gendarmes, but maybe I was hoping to. Finally, as we drove by a tiny cafe for the second time, an older woman yelled "tout droit" and although it looked like another dead end, we finally got out. Whew! I guess we at least provided some entertainment for the locals.

Anyway, after finally escaping from Arles (we will return but avoid driving in the inner city), we were happy to see that we were back to the apartment in about 90 minutes.

June, 2008. From two Americans living abroad.
Thanks for the info on BYOB. You confirmed my sense of what works here (or doesn't, in this case!) I may give it a try. If so, I'll let you know the results.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week in your apt., it's beautifully furnished and very well equipped. So nice to be able to walk to the market and restaurants. You asked where we live in Europe. In places like yours for the past 13 months! though usually for a couple weeks at a stretch. We've postponed our return to Asia for 6 months because we're enjoying Europe so much. Especially France, we always hate to leave here and when we leave we can't wait to return!
We're thinking of returning to Vaison in October, and would be very happy to stay at your apt. Thank you again for a very nice week in Vaison.

June 2008. Vancouver. B.C.
Hi again,
First, the apartment is lovely and well thought-out in every way. We are very happy. Second, we apparently arrived for the opening of the music festival. As we walked into dinner, there was a drumming group in red medieval finery performing at the base of the castle. On the way back to the apartment, we heard five different musical groups performing in squares and street-widenings: everything from an indo-Masai fusion drumming and dance trio to several kinds of rock, to something seemingly old French folk. Today is my birthday, so this was a truly festive way to close the evening. And now to bed.

Last night we had a very good dinner at Leonardo--artichokes a la
nonna and tagliarini with hommard for me, and octopus carpaccio and
tuna steak for John--imaginatively put together, and extremely well
cooked.

We notice the absence of Le Moulin a Huile from your
restaurant list. Is there a reason for this? Is it a casualty of its success. (Reply from Sharon: No, I haven't included it because I didn't like the last meals I had there, and it doesn't seem to be on the locals' radar. Will try again in 2009.)

August, 2007. Vancouver, B.C.
Everything ended very well and we really loved staying in your
apartment. I hope that we left no problems - we tried to replenish
anything we used. We will spread the word to our friends and would be
delighted to serve as references for others who are interested in
renting the apartment. Thanks again for all the information and guidance
you provided!
